The namesake of the place " Newman Grove " was a man named Newman Lewis, who planted at the site of today's park in the village of a small poplar grove. After his early death, his father made to ensure that the post office, which had been founded in 1874 and later the place " Newman Grove " (Eng. about: Newman Grove ) was called. The arrival of the Fremont, Elkhorn and Missouri Valley Railroad in 1887 assured the continued growth of the place. The February 9, 1888 is considered the official founding date of Newman Grove. "The New Era" was the first and only daily newspaper, which emerged in the 1890s. 1920, the village had reached 1,260 people with the highest population. After the Second World War, however, the number decreased due to the closure of a dairy and a tire factory, which had the effect of higher unemployment.
