Newport, County Mayo

Newport ( Irish: Baile Uí Fhiacháin ) is a town in Ireland. It is located in the west of County Mayo in the province of Connacht, north of Westport at the mouth of Brown Oak River in Clew Bay. In the town of 727 inhabitants ( 2006).

Traffic

Newport is located on the National Road N59 (Galway - Westport - Ballina (Sligo ) ) and about 15 km west of Castlebar.
