Newport (New South Wales)

Newport is a suburb in the north of Sydney in New South Wales, Australia. Newport is located 31 kilometers north of the city center in the administrative area ( LGA) Pittwater Council.

In 1880 the area was first called Newport, as Charles Jeannerett and George Pile on the headland built a shipyard and the Newport Hotel. Jeannerett made ​​day trips, either by carriage or by boat from Manly in Sydney, popular.
