Newton metre

The Newton meter is the SI unit for torque vector quantity.

After the formatting rules of the International System of Units The two symbols N and m must be always separated by a space or a multiplication point. The order of the factors is not to be reversed in order to avoid any confusion with mN = millinewtons.

Torque unit

A Newton-meters is the torque that produces a force of one Newton to a lever arm of a meter at the pivot point.

Be the position vector and the direction of action of the force perpendicular to each other, the acting torque is the product of the length of the lever arm, and the magnitude of the force.

Unit of energy

By definition, that is equal to the unit joule of scalar quantities of energy, heat and work. An indication of energies in is not common.
