Nexhmije Pagarusha

Nexhmije Pagarusha ( born May 7, 1933 at Pagarusha Mališevo, Kosovo) is a former Yugoslav singer and actress.

After her musical education in Belgrade she was since the 1950s, the most well-known Albanian-language singer Yugoslavia. In addition, she worked as an actress on stage and television productions. She ended her career in 1984.

When her best-known song is considered Baresha ( The Shepherdess ), which composed by her husband Rexhep Mulliqi and was texted by the writer Rifat Kukaj; in the nearly six minutes long song is a slow rhythm of sevens and a nine- faster rhythm alternate. In the 1960s, she appeared together with the folklore ensemble Shota abroad (including Germany, Austria, Israel and Bulgaria) on. In 1973 she appeared with the song E vetmja Dashuri ( Only love ) when Jugovizija ( Yugoslav preselection for the Euro Vision Song Contest ) on, in which, however, never was able to put an Albanian language titles.
