NGC 1333 in the New General Catalogue refers to a reflection nebula in the constellation Perseus. It has an apparent magnitude of 5.60 mag and an angular extent of approximately 6 ' × 3' and is located about 1,000 light- years away from us.
It is a giant star-forming region with young, less than a million years old stars, whose development has recently been studied with the Spitzer Space Telescope NASA.
Eduard Schönfeld discovered the nebula in 1855.
