NGC 24

NGC 24 is a spiral galaxy in the constellation Sculptor and is about 22 million light -years away from Earth. Occasionally, NGC 24 is mentioned together with NGC 45 as a member of the Sculptor Group. Due to the higher redshift, however, these two galaxies are more in the background of this galaxy cluster.

NGC 24 was discovered on 27 October 1785 by the German - British astronomer William Herschel.
