NGC 3766

NGC 3766 is an open cluster in the constellation Centaurus. NGC 3766 has a diameter of 12 arc minutes and a brightness of 5.3 mag. It is about 5,000 to 7,000 light- years away from Earth.

In one published in Astronomy and Astrophysics investigation with seven years of observation of more than 3000 stars with the help of Leonhard Euler Telescope in Chile 36 stars were in star clusters discovered that seem to belong to a previously undescribed class of variable stars that rotate rapidly and are only about 20 million years old. Their brightness varies only slightly ( 0.1 percent in two to 20 hours ), but can not but agree with the known stellar models.
