NGC 5548

NGC 5548 is a Seyfertgalaxie of type 1 with a bluish- white glowing, very compact core. Their spectrum shows absorption phenomena in the UV and X-rays that are characteristic of escaping at high velocity gas. NGC 5548 is one of the best studied Seyfert galaxies.
