The ngie [ ŋɡiə ] is a grassland language of Cameroon.
A variety of ngie, the Mengum is called, is the standard ngie lexically similar to only 56%, and is therefore considered by some linguists as a separate language.
The ethnic group that speaks the ngie as their mother tongue, is also called ngie. In 2001, the ngie had 37,000 speakers.
