Ngila Dickson

Life

Ngila Dickson worked as a fashion designer and stylist, before turning to the film industry. Rainbow Warrior - The conspiracy of the nuclear powers was the first film in which Dickson was responsible for the costumes. Apart from her work for movies Dickson also worked for television productions in the 1990s, especially for Xena and Hercules. At the Academy Awards in 2004 Dickson was in the "Best Costume Design" nominated for two films in the category. While The Last Samurai empty-handed, Dickson could for her work on The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King win the Oscar. Dickson is married to the art historian Hamish Keith and lives in Auckland.
