Ngor

The Ngor Monastery is the founding monastery of Ngor tradition ( Ngorpa ), one of the three main schools of the Sakya tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, which had close relations with Nepal. It was founded in 1429 by Kunga Zangpo ( 1382-1456 ) and is the seat of the throne holder of Ngor Evam Choeden.

The monastery is located in the municipality of the city Qugboxung Shigatse in Tibet. A biography of its founder wrote Sanggye Phüntshog ( 1649-1705 ). To the research have Amye Zhab (1597-1659) and Loter Wangpo (1847 - 1914) acquired merit. A neuerere history of the monastery comes from Thubten Nyinpo.
