Ni Xialian

Ni Xialian (Chinese倪 夏 莲/倪 夏 莲, Pinyin Ní Xialian; born July 4, 1963 in Shanghai ) is a former Chinese table tennis player and later Luxembourg. She is team world champion and two-time European champion in singles.

Your name is sometimes given with Ni Xia Lian Ni or falsely Xi Lian.

Career

Until 1989, Ni Xialian played for China. With their team won gold at the 1983 World Cup. With Guo Yuehua they got even the title in the mixed doubles. In the 1985 World Cup, she was runner-up in doubles with Cao Yanhua.

1989 Ni Xialian left China and moved to Luxembourg. In the 1989/90 season she played in the 2nd Bundesliga Bayer Uerdingen, then she stepped into the top league of Luxembourg in men's teams on. From 1991 she represented Luxembourg internationally.

At the World Championships in 1991, 1993, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2008, they could not repeat their earlier successes. For this, she won in the European ranking tournament Europe Top 12 1996 to 1998 three times in a row, first place, 2001, she came in second. Five times she participated in the European Championships. Here she won three gold, namely 1998 and 2002 in single and mixed with Lucjan Blaszczyk 2002. EM- silver she won in 2000 in a double ( with Peggy rainy weather) and 2007 in singles.
