Niccolò Pandolfini

Niccolò Pandolfini (* 1440 in Italy, † September 17, 1518 ) was a Cardinal of the Catholic Church.

Life

Pandolfini was the eldest of five children of a Florentine patrician family and studied in Bologna. Since 1461 canon in Florence, he was from 1462 to 1474 Clerics of the Apostolic Chamber.

Since December 23, 1474 Bishop of Pistoia, he probably received shortly after his appointment, the episcopal ordination. Pope Sixtus IV employed him as governor of Benevento and Pope Innocent VIII gave him the Abbey of S. Zenobio di Pisa as a benefice. Pope Leo X raised him on 1 July 1517 and made him cardinal on July 6, 1517, Cardinal Priest of the titular church of S. Cesareo in Palatio.
