Nicholas Brodszky

Nicholas Brodszky (also Nicolas or Miklós Brodszky; born April 20, 1905 in Odessa, Russian Empire as Miklos Louis Brownstein, † December 24, 1958 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA ) was a Russian-Jewish composer and musician.

He wrote in the 1930s, many hits, film and operetta music.

Nicholas Brodszky spent a large part of his education in Italy, where he studied at several conservatories. He turned to the light entertainment, dance music and operettas wrote what he had great success and became internationally known. He was nominated in the 1950 five times for the Academy Award for Best Song, while four times with Sammy Cahn.

In Berlin, he worked for the sound film as a composer for sound film operettas. Among his most famous works include " Gitta discovered her heart " (D 1932) with Gitta Alpar.

In 1934 he emigrated to the United States. After the Second World War he worked for the Austrian film reinforced.
