Nick Libett

Nick Libett ( born December 9, 1945 in Stratford, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who played in his time from 1963 to 1981 among others for the Detroit Red Wings and Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League.

Career

Nick Libett began his career as a hockey player with the Hamilton Red Wings, for by 1966 he was active from 1963 in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey Association. In the season 1963/64, the winger was also his debut in professional hockey for the Indianapolis Capitals / Cincinnati Wings of the Central Professional Hockey League. Towards the end of the 1965/66 season he moved to the Memphis Wings from the CPhl, for which he took up in the following season. In the 1967/68 season he ran for the first time at the Detroit Red Wings in the National Hockey League. However, the same time he was still in the CPhl for the Fort Worth Wings, as well as in the Western Hockey League for the San Diego Gulls used. From 1968 to 1979, the Canadian was one of the leading players on the Detroit Red Wings. He participated in the NHL All-Star Game 1977 part. On August 3, 1979, he was transferred in exchange for Pete Mahovlich in the NHL for the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he in 1981 at the age of 35 ended his career.

For Canada Libett took part in the World Cup 1979.
