Nick St. Nicholas

Nick St. Nicholas ( born September 28, 1943 in Hamburg as Klaus Karl Kassbaum ) is a German - Canadian musician.

He is best known as a member of Steppenwolf. His family emigrated after the war to Toronto.

In 1965, he played as a bass player in Jack London and the Sparrows. Without Jack London it was the Sparrows, along with the new also German-born frontman John Kay then The Sparrow ( the sparrow ). The band moved south to New York, and later to California.

In 1967, St. Nicholas came into Los Angeles the group at the Hard Times, then as TIME ( Trust In Men Everywhere) changed its name. After an album, he returned to his former colleagues Sparrow ( John Kay, drummer Jerry Edmonton and organist Goldie McJohn ), which are now as Steppenwolf anschlugen harsher tones. St. Nicholas played on three Steppenwolf albums:

  • Monster ( 1969)
  • Live (1970 )

George Biondo replaced him in 1970.

In 1994, St. Nicholas formed the " World Classic Rockers ", with former members of several bands.
