Nicki French

Nicki French ( born September 26, 1964 in Carlisle, Cumbria ) is an English singer and dancer.

French grew up in Tenterden (Kent, England). She is known for the dance cover version of Total Eclipse of the Heart, a number 1 hit by Bonnie Tyler from the 80s. She had so in 1995 a million seller in the U.S. and reached # 2 on the Billboard charts and number 5 in the UK. By For All We Know and Did You Ever Really Love Me she had then two smaller successes in their homeland.

Five years later she could reach the British charts again. She represented the United Kingdom at the Euro Vision Song Contest 2000 in Stockholm, titled Do not Play That Song Again, however, the court meant with 16 the worst performance of the British in the competition so far. Nevertheless, the song still reached number 34 of the pop charts.
