Nicola Agnozzi

Nicola Agnozzi OFM Conv ( born November 5, 1911 in Fermo, Italy, † February 17, 2008 ibid ) was Roman Catholic Bishop of Ndola in Zambia and Ariano Irpino - Lacedonia in Italy.

Life

Nicola Agnozzi joined the Congregation of the Franciscan Friars Minor at and was ordained a priest on March 18, 1934., He worked in the mission in Zambia and Rhodesia from 1954 to 1959 in Australia.

In 1962 he was John XXIII. appointed Titular Bishop of Adramyttium and auxiliary bishop in Ndola (Zambia ). The episcopal ordination on July 1, 1962 gave him Francis Costantin Mazzieri OFM Conv; Were co-consecrators Marcel Daubechies MAFR and Timothy Phelim O'Shea, OFM Cap.

In 1966 he was called by Pope Paul VI. appointed bishop of the Diocese of Ndola and 1976 Zambian bishop of the Italian dioceses Ariano and Lacedonia. 1986 Pope John Paul II appointed him bishop of the united diocese of Ariano Irpino - Lacedonia.

His resignation was accepted in 1988 by John Paul II.
