Nicolas de Neufville, seigneur de Villeroy

Nicolas de Neufville, seigneur de Villeroy, (* 1542, † November 12, 1617 in Rouen ) was a French diplomat and politician.

Villeroy was under Charles IX. , Henry III. , Henry IV and Louis XIII. Secretary of State ( secrétaire d' Etat) and Ambassador.

As Secretary of State he led of 30 December 1594 to 9 August 1616, Ministry of Foreign Affairs ( Secrétaire d' État aux Affaires étrangčres ), and from 1 January 1589 to August 9, 1613 to the Ministry of War ( Secrétaire d' État à la Guerre ).

Works

He left, among other things, the famous Memoires d'Etat depuis 1567 jusqu'en 1604 ( 1622-1634 ).
