Nicolás Esteban Medina Ríos

Nicolás Rubén Medina ( born February 17, 1982 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine footballer who currently División Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata in La Liga, the highest football league in Argentina, operates.

Club career

Medina played between 1997 and 2001 at Argentinos Juniors and moved to the 2001/02 season for £ 3.5 million for Sunderland in the English Premier League. There, the young midfielder was able to prevail and never became one of the most expensive failures purchases the club's history. His only previous use in the senior national team of Argentina had Medina on 5 September 2004 he appeared as a substitute in the World Cup qualifier against Peru in the 82nd minute for Carlos Tévez. In the Copa America 2004 Medina was indeed in the squad, but remained without use.
