Nicolas François Conroux

Nicolas François Conroux, Baron de Pépinville ( born February 17, 1770 in Douai, † November 11, 1813 in Bayonne ) was a French general of the infantry.

Life

At 16, Nicolas Conroux in 1786 enrolled in the army and been promoted to officer six years later.

He excelled in the two battles of Arlon (June 9, 1793, 17-18. April 1794 ) and Fleurus (26 June 1796) from. He participated in the battles of Valvasone and 1798 before Naples.

After the battle of Austerlitz (2 December 1805) Conroux was promoted to General for his bravery. As such, he participated in the battles at Heilenberg (10 June 1807), Friedland (14 June 1807), Aspern ( 21-22. May 1809 ) and Wagram ( 5/6 June 1809) part.

Conroux helped enforce Napoleon's interests in Spain and fought among others at Oñoro ( 3 / May 4, 1811 ), Vitoria (June 21, 1813) and Nivelle (10 November 1813). In the latter, he was very seriously wounded and died a day later in a field hospital.
