Nicolas-Germain Léonard

Nicolas -Germain Léonard ( born March 16, 1744 Guadeloupe, † January 6, 1793 in Nantes) was a French poet and novelist of the 18th century.

His poetry is influenced by the descriptive poetry of Salomon Gessner and the genre of pastoral poetry. His two novels are written in the form of letter novels and particularly influenced by Jean-Jacques Rousseau sentimental epistolary novel Julie or the New Heloise.
