Nielsen (crater)

Nielsen is a small impact crater on the moon northwestern front. It is located northeast of the tip of Montes Agricola in the plane of Oceanus Procellarum, north west of the large crater Aristarchus. An unnamed dorsum runs parallel to the Dorsa Whiston by Nielsen in a northwesterly direction to Mons Rümker.

The crater was officially named in 1973 by the IAU by the Danish astronomer Axel Nielsen Vilfrid and the American physicist Harald Nielsen Herborg.
