Niilo Halonen

Kalle Niilo Ponteva Halonen ( born December 25, 1940 in Kouvola ) is a former Finnish ski jumper. He jumped for the club Asikkalan Raikas, later for the Lahti Hiihtoseura.

At the Olympic Winter Games in 1960 in Squaw Valley, he won the silver medal behind Helmut Recknagel, at the Nordic Skisweltmeisterschaft 1962 in Zakopane the bronze medal. By the end of his active sports career in 1967 he reached the front ranks still frequently, but could never win an international jumping. After his career end Halonen worked for ski jumping discipline in Finland Finnish Ski Association as an official there until 1992 as coordinator of the FIS; at the Nordic World Ski Championships 1997 in Trondheim he was judge.
