Nikolai Dobronravov

Nikolai Nikolayevich Dobronravov (Russian Николай Николаевич Добронравов; born November 22, 1928 in Leningrad ) is a Russian poet.

Nikolai Dobronravov is primarily known as a writer of lyrics. Most of his poems were set to music by his wife, Alexandra Pachmutowa. However Dobronravov also worked with Arno Babadschanjan, Mikael Tariwerdijew, Müslüm Maqomayev and other well-known composers. The settings of his poems were interpreted by Georg Ots, Iosif Kobzon, Lev Leshchenko, Maja Kristalinskaja, Edita Pjecha, Alexander Gradski Estrada and other singers. The culmination of his work formed the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, but even today write Pachmutowa and Dobronravov new songs. Dobronravov also wrote poems that were not set to music.

For his services Dobronravov was awarded the Medal of the Soviet Union, the USSR State Prize and the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, 3rd and 2nd class. He is also, as his wife, honorary citizen of Bratsk. Today live and work Pachmutowa and Dobronravov in Moscow.
