Nikolai Tikhonov (writer)

Nikolai Semenovich Tikhonov (Russian Николай Семёнович Тихонов; * 22 Novemberjul / December 4 1896greg in Saint Petersburg, .. † February 8, 1979 in Moscow) was a Soviet writer.

Tikhonov was a member of the Serapion Brothers and published regularly in " Red Virgin Soil ". From 1934 he was a functionary of the Soviet Writers' Union, from 1946 he was a member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. From 1949 to 1979 he was Chairman of the Peace Committee of the Soviet Union.
