Nikolay Olyalin

Nikolai Vladimirovich Oljalin ( May 22nd, 1941 in Opichalino, Vologda Oblast, RSFSR, † November 17, 2009 in Kiev, Ukraine) was a Soviet and Russian actor.

Life

Oljalin was born in 1941 in the village Opichalino in Northwest Russia. In 1959 he moved to Leningrad, and immediately began studying at the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography ( ЛГИТМиК ) as a student in the course of Alexander Jahn. After successful completion of college, he became an actor in the theater for young audiences in Krasnoyarsk. On the local stage, he played for several years a number of one-man pieces with multiple roles.

1968 Nikolai Oljalin began in the Dovzhenko Film Studios in Kiev. His debut as a film actor he had in the role of fighter pilots Nikolai Boldyrev in the movie " flight day " ( " Дни лётные "). In the same year director Yuri Ozerov invited him to take a starring role in the film epic " Liberation " ( Освобождение ). This role of Captain Tsvetayev helped Oljalin to prominence in the entire Soviet Union and beyond. He has appeared since the late 1960s in many Soviet films in lead roles.

In 1990, after Oljalins scenario, the melodrama " Nichterschießbare music " ( " Неотстрелянная музыка » ), where he played a starring role himself.

Overall Oljalin played in about 60 films. In one of his last films he played the Inquisitor in the movie " Day Watch - Dnevnoi Dozor " ( " Дневной дозор ").

Honors

Oljalin in 1979 awarded the title " People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR ".
