Nikos Dimou

Nikos Dimou (Greek Νίκος Δήμου, born 1935 in Psychiko, Athens, Greece) is a Greek essayist, prose writer and poet.

Life

Dimou graduated from the Athens College, Athens private, where he studied French philosophy. In 1953 he published his first book. In the years 1954-1960 he studied philosophy at the Ludwig- Maximilians- University of Munich. After his return, he worked in an advertising agency and founded in 1965 his own advertising company. In 1979 he began as a columnist for several Greek magazines and newspapers to work, such as To Vima, Kathimerini and the Sunday edition of Eleftherotypia and Ethnos Kyriakatiki. As early as 1979 he had his own talk show on Greek television. He was co-founder of the radio station 98.4 FM Athens and worked in the Third Program of Radio ERA. Since 1983, he is only active as a writer.

After the fall of the dictatorship of the Colonels in 1974 Dimou published the following year, be very critical in Greece recorded Book I Dystychia tou na ise Ellinas, which was published in 2012 in German language with the title over the misfortune to be a Greek.

2009 Dimou candidate for the Greek party Drasi (action ) to the European Parliament. The party won so few votes that it later in the year no longer contested the election of the Greek National Parliament.
