Nikos Liberopoulos

Nikolaos " Nikos " Liberopoulos (Greek Νικόλαος Λυμπερόπουλος, transcription also Lymperopoulos; * August 4, 1975 in Kalamata ) is a former Greek football player.

Career

Nikolaos Liberopoulos began his career with the Greek fourth division Erani Filiatron. After he rose with his team in the third league, he moved in January 1994 to the second division to AO Kalamata. In Kalamata Liberopoulos scored 20 goals in 78 games and made the 1995 promotion to the top Greek league. In summer 1996 Liberopoulos signed a contract with Panathinaikos Athens and arrived there in the next seven years to 186 top-flight appearances, scoring 72 goals. Between 2003 and 2008, the striker was at AEK Athens under contract. With the Greek national counts Nikolaos Liberopoulos 65 inserts and 13 goals. For the season 2008/ 09 he moved to Eintracht Frankfurt. On October 25 Liberopoulos scored his first Bundesliga goal in the match against Energie Cottbus. On the ninth of November in the home match against VfB Stuttgart he achieved his first double.

His expiring contract was not renewed by the concord and he was officially adopted on May 1, 2010 before the home match against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

From 2010 to 2012, he played again in Greece, the Athens club AEK.

Beginning of September 2009 stated Nikolaos Liberopoulos his immediate resignation from the national team. For the European Football Championship 2012, he was nominated again for the squad. His last game for the national team, he played in the European Championship quarter- final against Germany. After he finished his career in the Greek national team.
