Niloofar Beyzaie

Niloofar Beyzaie ( born January 15, 1967 in Tehran ) (also: Niloufar Beyzaie, Niloofar Beyzai, Persian نیلوفر بیضایی or نیلوفر بیضائی ) is an Iranian playwright and director.

Life

Niloofar Beyzaie is the daughter of the theater and Filmresgisseurs Bahram Beyzaie ( Bahram Beyzai ) and those coming from a family of artists Monir Azam Raminfar. After studying German literature, theater, film and television studies and pedagogy at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, 1994, she founded the independent theater group Daritsche. Since 1985, Niloofar Beyzaie lives in exile in Germany.

Work

Are central themes of her work in the theater, " the woman ", " foreignness " and " the suffering of the individual in the crowd". It deals in their theater with contemporary themes and deals with a socio-critical views with Iran and the consequent human destinies. In addition to her theater work, she also writes articles about the political and social situation, particularly the situation of women in Iran. She stands up for women's rights and human rights in Iran and is involved in the Iranian art scene in exile for the rights of Iranian homosexuals and religious minorities especially the Bahais.

In 2005 she was honored by the Persian " World Academy of Arts, Literature and Media " in Budapest for their dedicated work in the theater in exile as the best director in the category Performing Arts. In the same year her play " Daughters of the Sun " was performed ( Come on, dance with me) in Switzerland from the theater Maralam directed by Peter Braschler.

The new production of her play " No Man's Land " was performed in March 2009 in German language in Karlsruhe.

In October 2009, Niloofar Beyzaies play " A File, Two murders " premiered. It is a documentary theater piece about the political murder of the couple Forouhar.

My newest play. " Face to face On the threshold of the cold season " is about two important women of Iran: Tahirih Qurrat al - ʿ Ain and Forough Farrokhzad. This piece was premiered in October 2011 in Frankfurt
