Nimród Antal

Nimrod Antal E. ( born November 30, 1973 in Los Angeles, California) is a Hungarian- American film director, screenwriter and actor.

Life

Antal grew up in Los Angeles as a child of Hungarian parents. In 1991 he moved to his father's recommendation to Hungary, where he studied at the Budapest theater and film school ( Színház - és Filmművészeti Főiskola ). After finishing his studies, he worked for film and television productions.

In 2003 he made his feature film debut control. The playing exclusively in the city of Budapest metro system film based on a screenplay that Antal had co-written with Jim Adler. The film received a number of awards, including the Prix de la Jeunesse in 2004, the Young Investigator Award of the Cannes Film Festival, the Golden Hugo Film Festival Chicago, the Golden Swan Film Festival Copenhagen, the Audience Award at the International Film Festival Warsaw and the FIPRESCI prize at the Cottbus Film Festival.

In 2005 he returned to Los Angeles. His U.S. debut was in 2007 in the Occupied with Kate Beckinsale and Luke Wilson horror thriller Motel. 2009 was followed by the action thriller Armored. 2010 Producer Robert Rodriguez entrusted him with the Director for the science fiction film Predators.

Then Antal turned the 3D concert movie Metallica Through the Never Metallica for the band, which appeared in September 2013.
