Nina Andrycz

Nina Andrycz ( born November 11, 1912 in Brest, Russian Empire; † January 31, 2014 in Warsaw) was a Polish actress and writer.

Nina Andrycz studied history at the University of Warsaw and law at the University of Vilnius. However, the studies did not lead to an end but started later studied acting at the National Institute of Dramatic Arts in Warsaw. Nina Andrycz was primarily known for her theater performances. She played the role of the Queen in the drama Don Carlos by Friedrich Schiller and Mary Stuart by Juliusz Słowacki among others. In Poland, she had made a name for himself as First Lady of Polish theater.

Nina Andrycz was married from 1947 to 1968 with the then Prime Minister of Poland and later Council of State, Józef Cyrankiewicz.

In 1996, a documentary about Nina Andrycz was filmed.
