Ning Hao

Ning Hao (Chinese宁 浩, Pinyin Ning Hao, born in 1977 in Shanxi, People's Republic of China) is a Chinese film director and screenwriter.

Ning started his studies at the Shanxi Taiyuan Film School in Taiyuan, then moved to Beijing, where he studied art at the Pedagogical University and Beijing with his film Thursday, graduated Wednesday. Then Ning studied at the Beijing Film Academy in 2003 and made his statements. Ning worked on several Chinese TV productions and directed music videos for MTV Asia.

Movies

After Thursday, Wednesday (星期四,星期三, 2001) and Incense (香火, 2003) was Mongolian Ping Pong (绿草 地, 2004), his first major film. Mongolian Ping Pong, he turned first as a high school project on the subject of table tennis, the film was successful, however, and was shown at several international film festivals, including at the Berlinale 2005. For the film, Ning was awarded the audience prize Asian New Talent Award at the International Film Festival Shanghai.

In 2006, Ning's film Crazy Stone to a surprise success. The co-produced by Andy Lau film was shot on a budget of 300,000 euros and has already played in the first month after theatrical release one million euros a. The film brought Ning also the prize as best new director at the Huabiao Film Awards 2007.
