Nippon Steel

Nippon Steel Corporation (Japanese新 日本 制 铁 株式会社, Shin- Nippon Seitetsu Kabushiki - gaisha ), listed on the Nikkei 225, is a company founded in 1970 in the field of steel production in Japan. The company is one of the world's 10 largest steel producing company in 2011 and produced approximately 33.4 million tons of crude steel. October 2012 merged with Nippon Steel Corporation, Sumitomo Metal Industries to Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation.

History

Nippon Steel was created in 1970 by the merger of the two steel companies Yawata Seitetsu KK (八 幡 制 铁 株式会社, Eng. Yawata Iron & Steel ) and Fuji Seitetsu KK (富士 制 铁 株式会社, Eng. Fuji Iron & Steel ).
