Nisrin Barwari

Nesrin Berwari (Arabic نسرين مصطفى برواري Nisrin Mustafa Birwārī, Kurdish نهسرين مستهفا بهروارى Nesrin Mistefa Berwari; born 1967 in Baghdad ) is a Kurdish politician in Iraq. She studied architecture and urbanism at the University of Baghdad, as well as policy and management at Harvard University in the United States.

From 1997 to 1998 she headed the Field Office for Human Settlement of the UN in Dahuk ( northern Iraq ), before she was appointed Minister of Reconstruction and Development in the Kurdish government in Iraq in 1999.

Since June 2004, she was one of four ministers in the Iraqi Transitional Government, where he had held the Department of Public Works.

In March 2004, an attack was mounted on Berwari. She survived unharmed, two companions died.

In the sworn on 3 May 2005 the first freely elected Iraqi government since Saddam Hussein 's minister for local government and public works.
