Nisterau
Nisterau is a municipality in the Westerwald district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Bad Marienberg (Westerwald ).

Geographical location
The community lies in the Westerwald between Limburg and victories.
Nisterau is ( dialect: Baach and Poul ) of the districts stream and lake of fire. Furthermore, the living space Gotthardshof belongs to the municipality.
History
Poole was first mentioned in 1300, Bach 1416 handed down the first time in writing.
Today's church was Nisterau ( 391 inhabitants) is newly formed on 7 June 1969 the dissolved municipalities Bach ( 302 inhabitants) and slough.

The local council in Nisterau consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
Coat of arms
The coat of arms description reads: "In two silver blue wave beams in the sign, above a golden rotbewehrter and gezungter lion between golden shingles ".
Based on the colors and the lion can the former belonging to the Duchy of Nassau recognize. Moreover, the two waves respectively symbolize the "black " and the Little Nister, streams that form the natural boundary of the parish.

Nature reserve
Between Nisterau stream and Bad Marienberg is the former quarry Bacher Lay, now a nature reserve. By Bacher Lay the Black Nister flows.
