NK ÄŒakovec

NK Čakovec is a Croatian football club from the northern city of Čakovec.

History

The club was founded in 1920 under the name Čakovečki Sportski klub (short CSK ). Later he also played under the name Jedinstvo Čakovec Čakovec and MTC, as he was then sponsored by a local textile company named " MTC ". Early 1990 took over the club, then its current name. Mid-1990 was the club some seasons the name NK Čakovec Union because it was sponsored by a local pastry shop called "Union".

2000 managed NK Čakovec promotion to the 1st League, but could only play two seasons there and rose at the end of the 2001/02 season again in the second league. According to financial difficulties and the descent of the sporting club Međimurje Čakovec newly founded in 2003 took over a large part of the team and played from 2004 to 2008 in the highest Croatian class. 2007 increased NK Čakovec even in the 3rd league from, in which he plays to this day.

Stadium

The stadium Mladost is used together with the city rivals Međimurje Čakovec. It has a capacity of 6,000 seats and has a natural grass pitch which is surrounded by a running track. All around is a mound heaped serving as flood protection and at the same time as Naturtribühne. Slight modernization measures, especially in the press area and the cabins are needed to meet the new requirements of the Croatian Football Federation for the second division. These conditions were established from 2006, according to which UEFA.
