Noir (William-Control-Album)

Noir is the second studio album by American electronica band William Control.

Formation

Wil Francis and Zombie Nicholas ( Nick Wiggins ) worked after the debut album Hate Culture again with Kenneth Fletcher of Aiden and Stephen Jeffreys together on the second album. Francis, Nicholas and Fletcher wrote together foreplay. Jeffreys contributed the more than ten-minute epilogue. Along with Luke Barnes was the album its title imaging Noir. Can not Help Falling in Love is a cover version of the hits of Elvis Presley. All other titles advertised Francis and Wiggins. I'm Only Human Sometimes playing on the novel and the film so dark at night; Dorian Gray tells the same story from the point of view of the protagonist of the novel by Oscar Wilde.

The album was recorded at Sleepy Hollow Studios near San Francisco by the band and produced.

Three weeks before the release of the album I'm Only Human Sometimes was released as a single. The record company Victory Records, which also sells Fan Merchandise, put the album on pre-order at a pair of unisex briefs with printed logo of the band.

Comments

  • Track 4 contains quotes from the novel and film "Let The Right One In".

Reception

Faye Lewis of online magazine Rocksound.tv forgives 7 out of 10 points, Soliloquy compares with Leonard Cohen and tells the Elvis cover: "When William Decides to cover Elvis' Can not Help Falling In Love HOWEVER there 's a distorted cluttering of acoustic overload amidst the electronica infused tracks obscuring the better moments.
