Nonso Anozie

Nonso Anozie ( born May 28, 1979 in Lincoln, Lincolnshire ) is a British actor of Nigerian origin.

Life and career

Nonso Anozie was born in England, the son of Nigerian parents. He trained as an actor at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, where he graduated in 2002.

Already in the summer of the same year he played on the stage in the title role in William Shakespeare's play King Lear. In 2004, he played in Othello for the second time the lead role in a Shakespeare performance and won for his portrayal of an Ian Charleson Award.

2006 Anozie was hired to take over the synchronization of the polar bear Iorek Byrnison in Chris Weitz fantasy film The Golden Compass. However, he was replaced from decidendi of the studios by the better-known actor Ian McKellen.
