Nordson Corporation

Nordson Corporation is a manufacturer of precision equipment for the application of adhesives, sealants and coatings. The company is headquartered in Westlake, Ohio and operations in over 30 countries.

History

The company founded in 1909, goes back to the U.S. Automatic Company. The company specialized at the time in the production of low-cost turned parts for the automotive industry. In 1935, the shift of production focus to the Hertstellung of high- precision parts, under the direction of then- founder Walter G. Nord.

1954 Nordson Corporation by two brothers, Eric and Evan North Amherst, Ohio was founded as a division of the U.S. Automatic Corporation. The former business model focused on the patents for the hot and airless method of applying paints and coating materials. Mid-1960s was eventually integrated into the Nordson Corporation, the U.S. Automatic Corporation.

Towards the end of the 1980s began with the acquisition of other companies to strengthen its market position. The first company, which was acquired by Nordsen was the Industrial Coating Aktiebolaget. This strategy is pursued, the company further in the 1990s and acquired other companies.

Products

Nordson manufactures equipment and systems for the application of coatings, sealants and coatings to various plastic, metal and wood products.
