History

Noritake grew out of a trading company which was formed in Tokyo and in New York City in 1876 by the brothers Morimura. 1904 founded Morimura Ichizaemon (森 村 市 左卫 门) Nippon Toki Gōmei - gaisha (日本 陶器 合 名 会 社, dt " Japan - China OHG" ) in Japan. This precursor of the present company was founded in the village of Noritake, a small suburb near Nagoya. After various mergers the company is now under the umbrella of the Nippon Toki Gōmei - gaisha Most of the products from the previous time wore on the back of the Nippon - stamp to show the country of manufacture. Today, many collectors agree that the best pieces of hand-painted porcelains originated from the time of 1891-1921.

Although customers and collectors since the 1920s, the goods under the general name of Noritake (and / or simply Nippon ) call the manufacturer to bear this name will officially start in 1981. Since Noritake is also the name of the place, the company was registered as a trade name until then forbidden.
