Norovyn Altankhuyag

Norowyn Altanchujag (Mongolian Норовын Алтанхуяг; born January 20, 1958 at Uvs Aimag ) is a Mongolian politician of the Democratic Party.

Life

Altanchujag studied physics at the National University of Mongolia, where he then taught from 1981 to 1990. In 1990, he joined the newly formed Mongolian Social Democratic Party, which merged into the Democratic Party in 2000. From 1996 to 2000, and since 2008 he was a deputy in the Great State Khural -, the Parliament of Mongolia. He worked from 1998 to 1999 as Minister of Agriculture and Minister of Industry from 2004 to 2006 as Minister of Finance. From 2008 to 2012, he was Deputy Prime Minister.

Since September 2008 Altanchujag Party of the Democratic Party, since August 2012 Prime Minister of the country.
