The Town of North Hempstead is one of three Towns in Nassau County ( New York). It is located between Hempstead and Oyster Bay on Long Iceland.
Here landed on July 6, 1919, the first Atlantic non-stop flight, a R34, at Roosevelt Field in Mineola. Seven years later, also started from here, the first flight of a Sikorsky S- 35th
1936, the U.S. Post Office Mineola built by the architect Julian Peabody.
After 1950, the dentist DB branch here has demonstrated the positive effects of fluoridation of drinking water.
Today it is the seat of the sports outfitter Maverik Lacrosse.
