Northside (Band)

Northside is a British music group of the Madchester movement.

Career

The group was founded in 1989 in Manchester. The following year, they released two singles. The first, Shall We Take A Trip, was by the BBC because of drug references ( the song begins with the letters LSD) only played at night, the second, My Rising Star, reached the UK Top 40

1991 so far the only album Chicken Rhythms and another Top 40 single Take 5 have been published. Northside has had some success in North America.

In 1992, recording for a second album were made. Because of the bankruptcy of the record company of North Side, Factory Records, this was never published. The search for a new record company was unsuccessful and led to the temporary end of the band in 1996.

The end of 2006 Northside went on a comeback tour of Britain.
