Notice to mariners

The Notices to Mariners ( Nfs ) is a series, which is published weekly by the German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency ( BSH).

History

Since 1870, information for navigation under the title of Notices to Mariners are published detectable. First, as a supplement to Hydrographic releases, about four years later as an independent publication. Since about 1881 they published weekly in booklet form.

Description

In the NfS all events, changes and actions at the German maritime shipping lanes, the high seas or in the territorial waters of other States will be made in the European and neighboring area. This completes the nautical publications, such as charts and sailing directions can be maintained at the current level. The NfS appear bilingually in German and English.

Structure

The books are divided into four sections:

  • Part 2 manual corrections
  • Part 3 catalog corrections
  • Part 4 Releases
