Nová Ves (Louny District)

Nová Ves ( German Neudorf ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers south of Louny and belongs to Okres Louny.

Geography

Nová Ves is located in the north of Džbán mountain country. Southeast of the hill Na Oříškách rises (420 m).

Neighboring towns are Smolnice in the north, Toužetín and Hříškov in the northeast, Zerotin in the east, Samotín, Bílichov and Hvížďalka the southeast, Dřevíč and Vinařice in the south, Průhon and Divice the southwest, Brodecký Mlýn, Kocanda and Selmice in the west and Brodec and Líšťany in the northwest.

History

The village was founded by the Knights Větřín Lev of Divice, the nad Labem, approval for the clearing of a forest track to the application of a village received from the Augustinian monastery in Roudnice on October 16, 1347. Instead of the original name, who could not prevail, the place got the name as common Nová Ves / Neudorf. During the Hussite Wars took possession of the city Louny the monastic estates. She held Nová Ves to 1547, when it was confiscated her against the Habsburgs because of their participation in the uprising. 1550 bought John D. J. of Wallenstein the village from the Bohemian chamber. Five years later, Johann Sovinec acquired on Toužetín the place and joining it to his rule. Until the mid-19th century Nová Ves was always subservient to Toužetín.

After the abolition of patrimonial Nová Ves / Neudorf was formed in 1850 a district of the municipality in the district Smolnice Louny. 1878 Nová Ves became independent. With the beginning of 1961 the incorporation took place after Hříškov and 1981-1990 Nová Ves was a district of Panenský Týnec. Since November 1990 Nová Ves again forms a separate municipality.
