Nová Ves (Třebíč District)

Nová Ves ( German Neudorf ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers north-west of Třebíč and belongs to Okres Třebíč.

Geography

Nová Ves is located in the southern part of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands on a knoll on the left side above the valley of Jihlava.

Neighboring towns are Cihalin in the north, Okřešice in the northeast, Račerovice in the east, and Cerveny Mlyn Sokolí the southeast, Petro vice in the south, Nové Petrovice and Okříšky in the west and Přibyslavice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village took place in 1214.

After the abolition of patrimonial Nová Ves was formed in 1850, a municipality in the district Třebíč. At this time, the village had 198 inhabitants. 1905, a village school was inaugurated. The volunteer fire department Nová Ves was founded 1911. North of the village a limestone quarry and brickworks were operated.

Largest companies in Nová Ves is now the Mann Hummel (CZ) sro In the limestone quarry is the Ranch Vápenka.
