Nowy Kraków, West Pomeranian Voivodeship

Nowy Kraków ( German New Krakow) is a small village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship and is part of the rural community Darłowo (Rügenwalde ) in a circle Sławno ( Schlawe ).

Geographical location

Nowy Kraków is located seven kilometers south of Darłowo and eighteen kilometers north- west of the county town Sławno on a side street that the provincial road 37 ( Karwice ( Karwitz ) - Darłowo ) connects with Słowino ( Schlawin ) with Jeżyce ( Old Hagen). Rail connection is via the stations Wiekowo (Alt Wiek ) and Karwice at the PKP line 202 ( Stargard ( Stargard in Pomerania ) - Gdansk (Danzig) ).

Place name

New Krakow is in contrast to the past also in the area Schlawer town of Alt Krakow (now Polish: Stary Krakow) named, the name was formerly only " Krakow ". - In Poland, the place name Nowy Kraków comes once before in the Greater Poland Voivodeship.

History

In contrast to Old Krakow was not indicative of a village, but for a New Forstgutsbezirk before 1945 Krakow. Church

New Krakow belonged before 1945 to the evangelical parish Peter Hagen ( Pęciszewko ) in the parish of Rügenwalde in the ecclesiastical province of the Church of the Old Prussian Pomerania Union. 1940 counted 1863 members of the congregation, and the last German clergyman was Father Franz Schroeder.
