Nowy Żytnik

Nowy Żytnik ( German New Mill ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It belongs to the rural community Malechowo ( Malchow ) in the powiat Slawienski ( Schlawe ).

Geographical location

Nowy Żytnik is located on the Province Road 205 ( Darłowo (Rügenwalde ) - Sławno ( Schlawe ) - Polanów ( Pollnow ) - Bobolice ( Bublitz ) ) immediately at the junction of the road leading from Lejkowo ( Leikow ) and Zielenica ( Söllnitz ) in the Valley of Grabowa ( Grabow ). The town is bordered by Bagno Ostrowiec ( Wusterwitzer Moor ) in the east, from Drzeńsko ( Drenzig ) in the south, from Zielenica ( Söllnitz ) and Białęcino ( Balenthin ) in the west and Ostrowiec ( Wusterwitz ) in the north.

History

New Mill was before 1945, over 200 years old, with wood paneling and forest management Balenthin ( Białęcino ) belonging residence for foresters and forest workers. Ecclesiastical was New Mill until 1945 a part of the Protestant parish Wusterwitz ( Ostrowiec ) in the same parish, which belonged to the church Schlawe the Church of the Old Prussian Union. Today Nowy Żytnik is also part of the Catholic church but now Ostrowiec deanery in the Diocese of Koszalin - Kolobrzeg Sławno of the Catholic Church in Poland. Protestant residents are assigned in Poland today the parish Koszalin ( Koszalin ) in the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Evangelical-Augsburg Church.

Education

The children of New Mill were taught in school in plain Werder ( Chomiec ), in the municipality of Jannewitz ( Janiewice ).
